SHANE MORRIS: The Archeology of Shared Resonances

(AUDIO INTERVIEW + MUSIC MIX)

Shane Morris is a percussionist, synthesist, recording artist, and film music composer based in Arkansas. He studied Cultural Anthropology, especially the African diaspora, Western music theory and history, Art history, and World Religions. These academic interests, combined with musical practice, provided the foundation for many of his tribal ambient and dark electronic albums. Shane's sonic explorations reveal a deep connection with the works of Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana, and Jorge Reyes while developing a sincere and genuine approach.

In this interview, Shane Morris talks about his path into music, embracing the unknown, and collaborating with neo-shamanic master percussionist Byron Metcalf on the new album `Ancestral Resonance.`
